4,000 children have showcased their talents at the 7th National Children's Dance Show, which has just concluded in Beijing.

The weather outside is frightful, but on closing night at this special event, the hall at Tsinghua University is a packed house.

4,000 kids are here to perform pieces like "I Am Champion", which tells the story of a boy training hard to realize his dream of becoming a boxer. Imaginations come to life, as the children dance in costumes the shape of flowers, penguins and even cars. Meanwhile, traditional dances are performed alongside more modern styles.

"Many teams have carried on our country's intangible culture heritage, and performed well with their traditional dances. It's full of ethnic styles and quite remarkable." Feng Shuangbai, Vice President of China Dancers Association said.

The National Children's Dance Show was launched in 1998, and has been held seven times since then. And, thanks to the China Dancers Association, these young ones have been getting some expert advice on choreography, as well as China's traditional folk culture.
