A series of creativity exhibitions will be held during the First UNESCO Creative Cities Beijing Summit which is set to open on October 20, 2013.

These exhibitions will showcase the role played by creativity in a city's social and economic development, as well as in its people's lives. All are free of charge.

The exhibition will highlight the achievements made by the 34 appointed cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in their quest for sustainable development through innovative approaches. The event is co-organized by UNESCO and Beijing Municipal People's Government.

Duration: October 21 to 27

Venue: Beijing Capital Museum, No. 16, Fuxingmenwai Street, Xicheng District, Beijing

Beijing Design Creativity Exhibition

The exhibition showcases the latest from Beijing's design industry in the fields of R&D, product design, architecture design, urban planning and digital and new media design. One of the highlights is the "Red Star Design Award" museum, where the best Chinese designs are displayed. The Beijing Gift designs are expected to wow visitors.

Duration: October 21 to 27

Venue: China Design Market, Madian, Xicheng District, inside Desheng S&T Sub-park of Zhongguancun Science Park (Z-Park)

China Style-China Oil Painting Art Exhibition

The exhibition will take place at the Dadu Museum of Art, China's first private art museum focused solely on oil painting. On display are nearly 200 outstanding works by dozens of renowned Chinese oil painters from different times, including Li Tiefu, Xu Beihong, Liu Haisu, Wu Guanzhong, Jin Shangyi and Chen Danqing. The exhibition unveils how the art of oil painting has evolved and developed in China since it was introduced into the country more than 100 years ago.

Duration: October 19 to December 28, 2013

Venue: Dadu Museum of Art, Guozijian Street, Dongcheng District
