  Yanqing in Focus

Yanqing County, located in northwest Beijing, is one of China's major quality grape producing areas. The county, home to the Badaling section of the Great Wall, is well-known for its quality grapes and wine thanks to its favorable geographic location, climate conditions and tech innovation efforts.

Yanqing's viticulture history can be traced back more than 300 years to the reign of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

By the end of 2013, the area under cultivation of grapes and their production had reached about 1,675 hectares and 6.3 million kilograms, respectively.
