A joint exhibition of Cardot's sculptures and Fan Zeng's paintings, themed "Tradition and Innovation," kicks off at the National Museum of China on Aug. 30, 2014.

Jean Cardot, a well-established French sculptor, brings to Beijing more than 90 sculptures, including the famous statues of Charles De Gaulle and Winston Churchill. Fan Zeng, a renowned Chinese painter, showcases dozens of his masterpieces at the exhibition.

The event, co-hosted by Peking University and the Chinese National Academy of Arts, is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic ties. It will run until September 21.
